    THE CLIENT
    Cattles plc is an independent financial services organisation, serving the non-stream credit market. Employing over 5,000 people, the group is made up of two separate divisions:

    The Consumer Group comprises 5 companies:
    - Progressive Financial Services(incorporating Welcome Services and Shopacheck Financial Services)
    - Progressive Insurance Company
    - Welcome Car Finance
    - Dial4aloan
    - The Lewis Group

    Between them, they run 495 branch locations throughout the UK and serve over 700,000 customers. The companies in this group offer secured and unsecured personal loans, hire purchase credit facilities and catalogue merchandise bought on credit.

    The Corporate Group, made up of Cattles Commercial
    Finance, Cattles Commercial Leasing and Cattles Invoice Finance, provides working capital finance to small and medium-sized businesses.

    The Challenge:
    In 2002, as part of its commitment to attract and retain the right blend of talent, Cattles was looking to improve its overall HR and payroll delivery. The company didn't feel its existing systems were flexible enough and was looking for a new solution that would centralise employee information, streamline processes and improve
    management information.
