It has long been a goal of enterprise IT to gather up all the data sitting in corporate databases and then deposit it into a central data warehouse from where it can be interrogated, to provide a single view of the organisation.
But what about the data that sits outside of these enterprise databases? How can we claim total data management if we exclude this data, which, as it happens, is increasing in volume an extraordinary rate?
