Monitoring in the age of virtualisation, SaaS and cloud computing

Overview

In the old days, monitoring enterprise IT service levels was relatively straightforward, as virtually all IT services resided on premise. Fast forward to the virtualised, outsourced and cloud enabled enterprise of today and it is clear that we are dealing with a completely different order of complexity.

This paper argues that organisations need a monitoring solution that offers a truly unified perspective, in order to take full advantage of the promise offered by emerging computing approaches without incurring undue costs, both today and in the long term. Items covered include:
