Despite the difficult economic climate, 2012 saw the UK rediscover something about itself: its innovation, its ability to compete and to win. Technology and communications strongly underpinned a year of promise, a year that will have a clear and identifiable legacy - a year that will inspire.
However, an exclusive Computing survey reveals that many IT departments seem to be adrift from much of this innovation, and many enterprises are failing to capitalise on obvious opportunities.
