On the surface, most organisations say that downtime is not a significant problem
for them, as they grapple with the challenge of managing complex networks of
mission-critical systems.
However, an exclusive survey reveals that a large majority of organisations have
experienced downtime of hours, or even days, that was beyond their control, while
others are living with unacceptable levels of availability – or admit that they do not know the statistics for their own businesses.
Just under half of the more than 200 enterprises surveyed said that these
significant stretches of downtime were visible to their customers.
