Cloud computing is the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product, whereby shared resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices as a utility (like the electricity grid) over a network (typically the Internet).
Monitoring network performance in the cloud is by no means the only thing an IT professional needs to worry about. It now becomes more important than ever to monitor cloud servers and apps. Monitoring the network, the Internet connection and the cloud vendor is only watching the route (critical as it is). You have to deploy a network management solution to make sure that your servers and apps in the cloud are up and running and performing at their best. You are also making sure that you are actually getting what you paid for-making sure that your cloud provider is delivering the SLA that you agreed upon.
