Boost IO hungry applications and virtualised infrastructures

Overview

The proof of concept (POC) benchmark test was carried out on a Solaris Host running Oracle connected to a clustered pair of NetApp FAS3020 heads. The NetApp delivered 3,500 IOPS and the latency was 3.7msecs. The same test was performed using the VS-fusion, which delivered 17,000 IOPS & 0.1msecs latency - in summary circa 5 x the IOPS performance and 37 x reduced latency.
