Performance tuning is the main area that Oracle DBAs spend most of their time; whether it is a DBA that helping developers tune SQL to improve performance by implementing more efficient queries, table‐ and index‐organisation schemes, or a Production DBA that deals with the users' perception of a slow database, batch jobs that take an increasing long time to complete, or so on. Performance tuning is also complex, primarily focused on writing efficient SQL, allocating appropriate computing resources and analysing wait events & contention in the system.
This paper outlines how to accelerate Oracle through the effective use of the VSfusion storage accelerator.
